The KSZ9031RNXIA is a fully integrated triple-speed Ethernet physical layer transceiver that provides a simplified Gigabit Media Independent Interface (RGMII) for direct connection to the RGMII MAC in Gigabit Ethernet processors and switches to Realize 10/100/1000 Mbps data transfer. The KSZ9031RNXIA simplifies board layout and reduces board cost by driving low-cost MOSFETs for four differential pairs using on-chip termination resistors and an integrated LDO controller to power a 1.2V core. To facilitate system startup and debugging in production testing and product deployment, the KSZ9031RNXIA also provides diagnostic functions. Parametric NAND tree support supports fault detection between the KSZ9031 I/O and the board. LinkMD® TDR-based cable diagnostics identify faulty copper cables. Remote and local loopback capabilities verify analog and digital data paths.
